Van der Sloot No Off Line Poker Tourney Wins: Only Wanted Girls

The young Dutchman was in Lima for APPT-Lima, but only as a fan–the San Francisco Chronicle reported he wasn’t registered to play in the event (he likely couldn’t afford the buy-ins, as he was staying in a $40-a-night rooming house).

He did play some in some “ring” or cash games at the Atlantic City Casino in Lima, where the tourney was held and where he met Flores.

He has also previously been seen playing poker at casinos in Aruba and the Netherlands.

He is also believed to play online poker, and has had some success–he reportedly won $12,000 recently in an online poker tournament.

Although in most of the countries poker is not considered as a sport, and in some countries – it is event not legalized, we do believe that poker is one of the most fascinating sport ever existed.
1.You may watch poker from home, on tv. Soccer venue – is a field, poker venue is a poker table.
2.You may watch tournament alive, and get more vivid emotions. In soccer you may notice every movement of a player, and in poker – there is a bit of mistery as you can not see the cards of players.
3.Winning in World Cup is a great national pride, winning in poker – is a personal pride and a great cash prize, of cause.
4.There are many icons in poker, as well as in soccer and any other sport: soccer has Messi and Rooney, and poker – Gus Hansen and Daniel Negreanu. Let us notice that soccer players get older and retire, and poker players – don’t.
5.About the scoring – every several minutes one of the players wins, and in soccer – there might be 1 or 2 goals a day!

Phil Laak breaks world record of continuous cash game poker.

A Guinness World record of Consecutive Poker game has been set by Phil Laak – 37-year-old poker pro, known under a nickname Unabomber, who played in the Bellagio poker room starting from Wednesday and kept playing over 4 days till the very evening of Saturday! The entire tournament has been video taped, it was held in presence of witnesses – according to rules of the record. Every hour he could have a 5 five-minute break, or he could accumulate breaks into longer ones. The action took place at the Bellagio Hotel-Casino, most prestigious poker room ever. Anyone could play with Laak if a seat was vacant, and they bought $800 in chips, the antes that each player takes turns playing – were $10 and $20. Among many exciting events at the WSOP, this record is surely one of the most remarkable.

Famous online poker player has been arrested!

Joran Van der Sloot has been arrested while attending the Latin America Poker Tour (LAPT) in Lima. He is a lead suspect in the murder of Stephany Flores, 21-year old girl, who was found dead in his hotel room. Van der Sloot is known as online player of  Party Poker, in 2009 he got $12000 cash prize at Party Poker. He was visiting LAPT as a spectator. In the past, gambler was also suspected in disappearance of Natalie Holloway in Aruba, and there are many rumors about him being recruiting girls for sexual services in Netherlands.

Great party was set by PowerPoker in honor of launch of new online casino – PokerVegas. Event took place at Casino Palm Beach in Cannes, with pool party and evening extravaganza.
